Week 7 - Production Week

With Production over for another two years our cross-grouping classes will return to normal in Week 8. For the last few weeks of school we will be focusing on our next steps in our reading and writing and we will also be undertaking a mini study of "minibeasts". I wonder what that is?

I would like to congratulate all of you for a huge improvement on your spelling since Term 2! Keep using those spelling strategies in reading and writing! Next spelling assessment will be Friday of Week 8! Try writing at home in the weekend too!

Week 6

Cross grouping didn't really happen for us this week due to production and
Mrs Procter being sick. I do hope you are still reading! We will be back into full swing next week!

We have an exciting literacy programme starting after the production so you will be very buzzzzy! (Clue)

End of Week 5

What a week! For the next two weeks we will be having a disruptive literacy time due to production practise. Don't forget you still need to do your spelling and read your book every night.

We are working on our ICT ME's, Comic life at the moment and writing our report on endangered species. WALHT write a report with a beginning (introduction), middle (the guts of the hamburger, the juicy stuff) and the end (finishing).

Well done to Malia and Lleyton on level 10 and 11 for spelling! Spelling test on Monday!!!!

We have a lot happening during literacy time which is very exciting!

Have a lovely week.

Week 5

Everyone has now moved up a spelling level this term, fantastico! We need to keep reviewing our personal goals for writing so remember to refer to the Matrix on the back wall of the classroom in Room 13.

This week we are focusing on report writing and hopefully, I can get your Comic Life pieces of work printed off this week and bounded into an innovative book.

Remember, you need to be taking home your spelling words and your reading book every night. If you forget your book then read a book from your book shelf at home. If you are finding your 'reader book' too challenging you need to tell me because the books you take home are a few levels below where you actually are so you can work on reading fluently.

Remember, you need to bring to literacy class every day a glue stick, a ruler, red pen, blue pen, pencil, your reader book and your spelling notebook.

Spelling

Well done to those of you who moved up a spelling level on Friday - there was certainly a lot of you! You can tell who do their homework! Remember, by you practising your spelling it will help you with both your reading and writing so take your notebook home and practice your spelling by writing the words down on scrap paper.

Term 3

Well, Room 13 literacy class is turning into an ICT classroom! We have been completing a huge range of activities and by even making our writing come to life using playdough, digital photography and comic life! Keep up the great work!

Thinking outside the square

The race is on to see who can come up with a story to go with the picture. There will be a new picture every week to get you thinking creatively!
